Founded in 2018 in Khishig-Undur soum (village/district), where it has been carrying out its first projects, Ecosoum now aims to share its knowledge more broadly, advocate for necessary changes, and support relevant initiatives all over the country.
MORE SPECIFICALLY, ECOSOUM FOCUSES ITS WORK ON FIVE MAIN FIELDS OF ACTION.
In order to best meet the needs expressed by populations, our association seeks to support any type of local action that can contribute to strengthening socio-ecological justice and the autonomy of local communities, even outside these topics.
ECO-CONSTRUCTION AND HOUSE INSULATION
SUSTAINABILITY OF TRADITIONAL BREEDING

ECOSOUM IS THE FRUIT OF THE INITIATIVE OF A FRENCH-MONGOLIAN COUPLE LIVING IN KHISHIG-UNDUR.
The association members strive to develop a citizen dynamic in order to involve as many volunteers as possible among the inhabitants of the village.
TRULY UNDERSTANDING ECOSOUM'S APPROACH AND ITS WORK REQUIRES FIRST TO UNDERSTAND THE MONGOLIAN CONTEXT.
With its vast steppes with extreme continental climate, its dual nomadic and post-communist heritage, its traditional breeding of five animals, and its small population scattered over its huge territory, Mongolia is an absolutely unique country.
